| ROLE OF A FEMALE MISSIONARY BY DR. JAD JAMAL KHALAF The field leader has to act as a leader that abides by the Bible. Men should be the only ones ordained into the ministry. Remote or not remote does not change the truth. There are those who think that important principles should be compromised when needed. That is not true because no one should compromise God’s Word. The field leader should sit the women down and explain to them that there are responsibilities that men are to carry out that is different than what women carry out. The women should understand that they would be crossing the line and going against God’s will. This might not go over too well with the two female missionaries but sometimes the truth hurts. The two female missionaries should allow, without any bitterness, the male missionary to fly in and preach. Though the plane ride is hazardous, the male missionary believes that God will bless the mission by obeying God’s Word. I believe that this is true. The field leader should encourage the male missionary to continue to fly in and preach. This male missionary realizes that women’s roles are clearly not to overstep men’s roles in the church. The two female missionaries should be willing to understand the situation. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. I would advise the field leader to not allow the women to preach. Sacraments are special and should be treated with honor. The people in the remote area need to learn the truth about how to administer sacraments. Only those ordained by God to preach the Word of God should preside over administering the sacraments. The field leader should talk with the female missionaries and explain to them that they are not allowed to administer the sacraments. As firm as it sounds the answer would not change. The field leader should affirm his missionaries that God’s Word is to take priority in making the decision. The male missionary is not intruding when he flies into the village. On the other hand, the field leader should explain to the two female missionaries that they are intruding on the male missionary’s role that God has called him to. The field leader thinks that under unusual circumstances that the women should be ordained. After discussing the information above with him, I would pray that he would change his mind by allowing the male missionary to continue to fly into the village. The field leader should also realize that he is called by God to faithfully follow God’s Word without compromise. If at all possible the field leader should encourage the two female missionaries to work with the male missionary in hopes of the male missionary disciplining the men in the church. God could call a Christian man in the remote tribal church to preach or at least teach. There should not be division in the church. The field leader should encourage harmony among the believers because others are watching the way each are acting. The female missionaries need to be reminded, by the field leader, that they are a walking Bible that others are reading. The male missionary should keep in mind that even though he flies back and forth to and from the village that he should encourage the female missionaries to continue on in their calling of sharing Christ with those they come in contact with. I personally do not think that God calls a woman to be a preacher. The role of the woman is clearly seen throughout the Bible. |
